Astronomy Undergraduate Research Symposium
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Texas A&M University is pleased to announce it will host the second annual Texas Astronomy Undergraduate Research Symposium on Friday, September 14. This all-day event will feature 10 minute talks by undergraduates from astronomy departments across Texas, and the students will speak about their research projects in astronomy. The Symposium will give students experience speaking about research, and will expose both them and their audience to the wide array of quality research being done by undergraduates in astronomy.
We invite undergraduates who have done research in astronomy to give presentations, and we invite all faculty, researchers, and students to attend the day's events. Please share this invitation with colleagues at your own and other institutions within Texas. Registration is now open for the meeting. Please register by September 1 at the following website: http://instrumentation.tamu.edu/AstronomyUndergradSymposium.html
Hotels for out of town student speakers and their advisors for the night of September 13 will be provided by the Texas A&M Department of Physics and Astronomy. Travel funds may also be available if requested. We hope you will be able to join us in College Station on September 14!
